If we haven’t met yet—Hi! I’m Nicole Steen, the founder of Nourishing Beauty by Jovan, and I absolutely love everything about hair. From scalp care to protective styles to the science behind hair loss prevention, I’ve dedicated my life and career to helping clients love and nurture their crowns.
A Bit About Me
I like to say I’m an introvert turned ambivert—because even though I naturally lean more quiet and reflective, being part of the beauty industry has taught me the power of connection, communication, and community.
I’ve been active in the beauty industry for over two decades, and in that time, I’ve seen how transformational consistent care, knowledge, and trust can be. I specialize in preventative hair care, because I believe you shouldn’t have to wait until your hair is breaking or falling out to start taking it seriously.
Why I Do What I Do
Hair is so much more than style. It’s identity. It’s health. It’s a reflection of what’s going on inside and out. My passion lies in helping women identify early signs of scalp and hair issues, understand how to care for their unique texture, and build routines that actually support growth and retention.
That’s why I created Nourishing Beauty by Jovan—a space where beauty meets wellness, and where clients are seen, heard, and cared for from root to tip.

I’m a lifelong learner and current trichology student, constantly deepening my knowledge to better serve you.

– I’m a certified product junkie—but only for the right reasons. I’ve tested so many hair products over the years, and I’m always looking for what truly nourishes the scalp and supports hair health—not just what smells good or has hype.
– I’m faith-led and purpose-driven. Everything I do in my business is rooted in faith, compassion, and care. This is more than a salon—it’s a safe space for restoration.
– The name “Jovan” in my business is actually my middle name. It means “God is gracious,” and it beautifully reflects the heart of my brand—graceful beauty rooted in purpose.
